I have to wath this one. I had not heard about it.
I loved Bruno Ganz in Der Untergang.
It's funny what mentioned about the movie being critized for being misogynist. It's like criticizing a movie about Vikings for not having enough blacks, latinos or asians. If the guys is a serial killer, chances are most of his crimes will be committed against women and form his perspective women will be shown as disposable.
I still have to watch it to see if there is something beyond the actual subject matter that might have caused that criticism.

I agree with you. A specialized critic said something like this: "the film is controversial because of the current moment, not because of the content itself".
Ok, I see. But still, if we are going through a period where women are protesting abuses, etc., this kind of movies may actually put things in perspective and contribute extreme cases to be considered.
I see, for instance how alarming femicide is in, say, Mexico. Not only the number but also the ways these crimes are perpetrated.
And we may have women in, say, the USA, complaining about these female potential criminals who want to cross the border (running away from impending doom). So much for women solidarity.
I think we have uglier horrors in real life as to be alarmed by the ones portrayed in movies
