Today "The Foreigner" got released, I had a lot of expectations because the early review the movie got when it was released in China was good. I love Jackie, both as an actor and as a human being. But, even he couldn't save the film. The story is something we all have seen many times. The bad guys bomb a bank Quan Ngoc Minh's (Jackie Chan) daughter will die in it, Quan Ngoc Minh will take revenge. The story is very predictable, and we all know what happens in the end.
Review:
We'll Jackie Chan's performance in this film is really great. We all have an image inside out head of smiling and funny Jackie Chan, but here he portrayed a really serious character. His identity is unknown all we know is that he is an immigrant in London. Pierce Brosnan is playing the role of a corrupt government official, who also doesn't know who planted the bomb. Its a face off between Quan who is investigating individually and Liam Henness (Pierce Brosnan) who is doing with his team.
The main problem was that the movie goes at an equal pace. There were very less number of reversals to keep us interested and I kind of felt sleepy. But, coffee really helped to keep me up. Every single scene looked the same, there was no contrast. There were no high points and low points, it was going flat like a dead patient.
Even if the movie is bad, I really enjoy watching the action scenes. But, in this the action scenes are also not new and had room for improvement.
One man going against everyone to get justice. Die Hard, Taken, Air Force One I mean we have seen it, all comes under the same category.
Conclusion:

i will say it a solid movie with two big actors from different parts of the world and rich story line, i agree we have seen it before , but the way the story unfold is great and keeps you in suspence, most movies put a lot of action and sacrifice the story but in this they have done an excelent job
Hey thanks for your honest opinion. But, again this is my personal opinion. :)
