My #1 movie of all time is Blade Runner, for its ingenious story and phenomenal Vangelis music. You must watch the Final Cut, not the crappy theatrical with the voice-over. I highly enjoyed this sequel, the music was very reminiscent of Vangelis, but lacked melodies. Ryan Gosling's performance was surprisingly well executed. Expressionless, yes, but he's a machine after all, designed and refined to do his job (compared to the older Nexus generations), nothing more. I would have liked to see something more unfold with Niander Wallace's story, another epic performance by Jared Leto.
Agree, the original is great! Love the non-voice-over version. The behind the scenes documentary on "The Final Cut" DVD is so interesting. It is amazing that they avoided computer graphics for the futuristic cityscapes in the first film.
Indeed, I watched the documentaries that came with the Blu-ray set. It increased my appreciation of the original movie, all the special effects were old school, which looked impressively realistic and better than CGI. Film that on 65 mm and you got a masterpiece of quality.
Yes and yes. Very inspirational. Ridley Scott is so sharp. The detail.
One of my favorite behind the scenes movie docs!
Along with:
Hearts of Darkness: AFP --
Under Pressure (The Abyss) --
The Original Star Wars Trilogy Doc
Agreed ... as a sequel 2045 did a very good job ... for the one who haven't seen either one, watch the first one (Director's Cut) before watching this one ... specially if you are very young ..
I will give the final cut later, when I watch the first part again. and yes @drakos, you're right, Niander Wallace's role / story could have been expanded a bit more. it was really a little too short. Like role of the daughter of Rick Deckard. What will happen to hear? Will the replicants find her?...
I read an article about a 3rd part, in which Ridley Scott says, where he already thinks of a third part. I really hope he will produce it. because many questions are open.
The third one has to be very different from the first two ... maybe closing the cycle, answering some questions and adding new one ... I hope that they don't do what was hinted on this one ... 'the war is coming' ... Blade Runner And The War Of The Replicants would be really boring...
yeah, i agree, the 3rd one, if there will be a 3rd part, must be different. but how, i dont know. i hope Ridley Scott will surprise us when the time is there :D
I'll go check the original out first.
the movie itself had one of the most decent soundtracks corespondent to the movie , and it was astonishing , detailing a perfect picture of how a human can be cruel and loving at the same time, how can we be selfish and also giving.Loved the post and be sure to make some more posts like this in the future and check my posts also if you have any time thank you :))!!!
