RE: The Post - Film Review

Even though you bring up some great reasons as to why this movie wasn't that great, I do believe Spielberg did a good job informing the audience about this event. It did feel slow and unenthusiastic, which doesnt help the audience connect with any of the characters.
I would give this movie 6.7/10. Spielberg knows how to put a plot together and can direct almost any IP, but he came up short on this one.

He did a much better job with Bridge of Spies, that's a film that could have easily been boring in the wrong hands but he keeps it interesting from start to finish!

Agree 100%, Bridge of Spies was fantastic. Perfectly paced and entertaining with a tad bit of action. Ultimately the interpretation of the story drove this thanks to Spielberg.
