Recession or No Recession?

in #finance2 days ago

  • persistent inflation and reduced purchasing power
  • high interest rates that decrease business investment and borrowing
  • declining corporate earnings and major layoffs
  • rising consumer debt and debt delinquencies

but GDP isn't showing it, employment levels are painted as strong, and the stock market is suggested to be holding up. But we know there are questions about how they calculate one thing or another or even define recession. Perhaps the people won't know until it is too late.

Fiat currency is known to historically collapse and for those currencies who haven't yet it is expected that eventually they will too due to overprinting, loss of confidence, or mismanagement.
