For many investors, Google Finance has served as an excellent portfolio tracker, news source, and investigative tool. However, over the past several months, Google has redesigned the classic https://www.google.com/finance page in order to integrate it into the modern Google brand.
Naturally, Google Finance had become somewhat outdated over the years; however, it was the content of the site that mattered to investors, not aesthetic. Now, the formerly cohesive interface resembles any other Google tab, and the functionality is far from its former glory.
Many investors have begun searching for alternatives, and I have some suggestions. If quick and easy charting is your priority, TradingView is an excellent option. However, if you are still searching for that full replacement, I can guarantee that Morningstar will have you covered (http://www.morningstar.com).
Not only does Morningstar contain news, charts, portfolio tracking, and more, but it even has that same dated feel that Google Finance once did... Of course, a little updating is always nice, but not if it means sacrificing core functionality!
So, if you're an investor looking to find your Google Finance replacement, check out Morningstar and let me know what you think. Or, if you have an alternative that you prefer, please let me know!
