For the first time in 15 years, I had to share finances with my partner and for those of you who have done it. Would you agree that is like getting half naked in front of that person? or entire naked?
In fact, managing money and discussing money it is probably one of the top 3 things couples have issues and start arguments. We all have different ideas of money and finances are difficult not only to manage, but to share personal issues and history. I believe having finances n the table before any couple takes one step further to their relationship can impact in a positive way in their future. Money can ruin relationships, that is a fact.
Although, happiness will depend on attitudes and goals. We should be able to respect our partners views some of their habits when it comes to their finances.
Three recommendations:
- Be honest & humble
- Schedule discussions and set attainable goals
- Develop a strategy to take action
