RE: My experience lending on Poloniex

in #financial9 years ago

My experience: never ever talk about or mention lending because stupid people undercut by large amounts and fuck everything up. If you're lending coins, that means you're long on them. That means you should make it as expensive as possible for people to short them. If they wanna play with borrowed coins, make it cost something. Clams in particular is ridiculous as I routinely see people lending hundreds, sometimes thousands of them well below the rate they'd get if they just staked them.

Sort:

It is to do with the auto-renew facility. People just set it at a low rate and forget about it. And lose a lot of money during periods of high shorting, as well as stuffing things up for everyone else.

When I go out from computer for a long time - I always set duration 2 days and autorenewal for "normal" rate - 0.015% or 0.02% . But today, for example, you can lend BTC for 1% a day and many people with autorenewal lost their opportunities
