RE: So... What Happens Next? Some late Night Random Ramblings

I keep reading the advice that Steemit isn't Steem, and this is just a playground for people wanting to develop apps for the Steem blockchain... and that's nice, and all, but it troubles me in the context of the recent dLive exit.

It also makes me want to ask that if Steemit the social site truly isn't important, then why is the company called STEEMIT, Inc. rather than STEEM, Inc.?

I have little idea of what will happen to Steemit. Like you, I am hopeful that projects like Steem Monsters will take off enough to provide a boost to the value of the Steem token, so my accumulated SP will slowly appreciate in value. I'll keep on blogging here as long as it still seems like fun (because I enjoy blogging!) and the core group of actively engaged Steemians remain.

Beyond that, whatever happens... happens.

As for Weku, Whaleshares, Minds, Dmunity and the other wannabes, I have no particular expectations... but it's fun to poke around and see what people are doing.

Good point @denmarkguy. I've not seen anyone ask that question before and now I'd really, really like to know the answer to that. 😁

If I can find a pertinent and relevant place to insert it into some dialogue with someone who's "near the top," I intend to put it out there.

Of course, I expect "the answer" will be that Dan's vision when he started the project was very different from where we have actually wandered.

But I'd still like to see it asked and answered. And if YOU find the opportunity, ask away!

if YOU find the opportunity, ask away!

I will @denmarkguy.

Dan's vision when he started the project was very different from where we have actually wandered.

Maybe. But surely SMTs must have been planned in from the start.
