I dig stories that deal with afterlife scenarios and I dig philosophical musings, so I enjoyed every word of this. :) The tone and character of your second half reminds me very much of some of Franz Kafka's shorter pieces and fragments where he really cuts loose, contemplating things deeply and then turning that contemplation itself inside out. Diving into this felt like falling into some alien (yet also strangely familiar) reality, where I was bumped and jostled and battered and flung about. And even though I couldn't make "sense" of that dazzling tumult, I enjoyed every moment of it, and I emerged enriched. Thank you for the fascinating trip! :D
