Life- hind sight always brings our flaws to the fore. No man is perfect, he can only aim to be. There are always people and relationships which we tend to over- simplify, to not think about them or box them up. This does not change reality, it only skews our image of the world. And some lessons in life may be more costly than others. In Mr. Renhe's case irreversible.

And this indeed is a costly approach. As time passes, that cost grows, with interest. I think this explains why so many criminals eventually confess to someone--the burden of what we do or fail to do is inescapable.
