This is the first post in a series about personal finance, goals, and tracking results.
A bit of background for the story... I'll try to keep it as brief as possible...
So, I created this account a little over a year ago, in October 2023. I had specific goals and plans for this project. There’s a website where I intended to publish articles, and this account was created under the same name. The plan was to post long texts on sociology here, conduct extensive research on the Hive ecosystem, and share reports on the website.
However, over time, I realized that my knowledge from the FAQ and the project’s white paper was just scratching the surface. The ecosystem’s structure is quite unique when it comes to finding information. To be honest, answering even seemingly simple questions about Hive often requires considerable effort. At the same time, as social connections grow, so does the amount of knowledge you gain.
To some extent, I overestimated my abilities and resources, which led to adjustments in both my plans and processes. I imagined things unfolding differently, but, as often happens, there were surprises along the way. Still, a gentleman works with what he has and doesn’t look for excuses. That’s the first part of the background and a bit of a revelation.
The second part of the background is that I didn’t initially plan to write anything like this. Just about an hour ago, I was working on a draft for an article titled "Types of Hive Users and Opportunities for Engaging Them in the Ecosystem". While searching for information using a "secret" tool in my browser’s search bar with the tag site:peakd.com Hive ecosystem investor, I came across some fascinating materials.
6 Months into the Year - Review of My Hive Investment Progress: The Ups and Ups. I found the idea intriguing. It’s particularly interesting to me because I want to dive as deeply as possible into the economic model. Additionally, I’m fascinated by the social processes connected to economics.And by chance, I came across an article by @hoosie (thank you, my friend, for the inspiration):
Some time ago, I was searching for articles resembling "success stories" from community members, but I couldn’t find anything substantial back then. And here’s an example: @hoosie. In this article (dated June 27, 2022), he describes the value of his wallet (hopefully, you won’t mind the numbers) at $551, including 1,089 HP, with a goal of reaching 2,000 HP. I thought, why not check the wallet of the account now? It shows 17,820.636 HP, with a total wallet value of $5,655.77. In my opinion, this is precisely one of those success stories that can inspire others.
All posts related to this initiative in my blog will be tagged with #finweek. Naturally, my curiosity got the better of me, and I skimmed through a few more articles by @hoosie (I’ve subscribed). I noticed there’s a like-minded community there, discovered several other interesting accounts, and now I’ve got plenty to explore in my free time.
I think that’s enough background for now—it’s time to get to the numbers...

It seems unrealistic, but with the New Year holidays ahead, who knows...
A Few Words About the Plan
I plan to publish posts in this series weekly, on Saturdays or Sundays.
How Do I Plan to Achieve This?
By writing articles. I plan to delegate 3,500 HP to @ecency, which should yield a daily payout of just under 1 HIVE, approximately 25 HIVE per month. Delegations also earn points that can be used to promote posts on the platform, potentially increasing reach. This needs testing.
The decision to delegate is more of a necessity. My electricity is frequently cut off, so I can’t always guarantee consistent activity. When the power is on, there are other tasks that demand my attention.
That’s it for now. Perhaps this burst of enthusiasm will grow into something greater over time—it's worth a try.
