Lag Ba'Omer Holiday - ל"ג בעומר

Probably this is the reason our ancestors worshiped the sun and the moon in ancient times because they brought the light. Today we more understand the real importance the sun light because it is the source of all energy on our planet, without that we couldn’t survive.

The motif of the light is even stronger and appears a lot, the eternal fire that lit the Temple, the Menorah, Chanukah, the candles of holidays and Shabbat also Lag Ba’Omer our subject in the title.

Lag Ba'Omer is part of the story of light that I wanted to tell a little bit about this day.

So why celebrate Lag Ba'Omer?

Lag Ba’Omer is the 33 (of 49) day of the Omer days, days that are counted from the first day of Passover until Shavuot when the Torah was given.
According to tradition, this period is very difficult because bad things have happened in the past during it. Therefore mourning practices are also being implemented.
As they say that during the Omer day, an epidemic disease broke out among the students of Rabbi Akiva for not respecting each other and in Lag Ba’Omer it has stopped they have changed their behavior toward each other. This is also the day the famous student of Rabbi Akiva , who is Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai passed away. However, fortunately upon his death he has left his legacy to his pupils who received a lot from his knowledge and secret wisdom and the joy is for that, because he was credited with writing the Book of Zohar, the book of Jewish Kabbalah.

How Lag Ba'Omer is celebrated ?

One of the main habbits is by the light of bonfires as did people in antiquity in order to transmit information from place to place, also as a symbol to that during the rule of the Romans in Israel land, the Jews lit bonfires to ignite the fire of their revolt against the darkness days.
The end of the matter, it is impossible without light and life without fire belongs to prehistory. Therefore, we have good reasons to glorify light/fire events.

בהרבה דתות ומסורות מוטיב האש והאור משחקים תפקיד חשוב ומרכזי.

חג הדיוואלי בהודו, חג הפנסים הסיני והטיוואני, חג המולד עם כל קישוטי האור.
כמו שכתוב : "ויסף ישוע וידבר אליהם לאמר אני אור העולם כל ההולך אחרי לא יתהלך בחשכה כי אור החיים יהיה לו'' (יוחנן ח:1)
בדת האיסלם גם, אומרים שלידתו של מוחמד הייתה מלווה באור וקדושה, ולא רק זה אלא שבואו של הנביא גרם לביטול המנהגים האפלים שהיו בתקופת אלג'אהליה (תקופת הבורות ואי ידיעת האל).
מקור האור לפי האיסלאם יכול לבוא כסמל מהדלקת שמן הזית.
בציטוט מהקוראן, סורה 24 מופיע : ''אלוהים הוא אור השמים והארץ, אורו נמשל לגומחה אשר בה מנורה, והמנורה עשויה זכוכית, והזכוכית ככוכב נוצץ, היא הוצתה (בשמנו של) עץ מבורך, עץ זית...''ציטטה זו מהקוראן, היא תרגום אורי רובין, 2005 הוצאת אונ' תל אביב.
שלא לדבר על פסטיבלים בכל רחבי העולם, פסטיבל האורות בליון, בשבדיה, באיטליה ובעוד מקומות.

זה באמת אוניברסאלי

האור מסמל אצל כולם את ניצחון האור על החושך, הטוב על הרע, השמחה על העצב, הזך על הטמא, ניצחון החוכמה על הבורות, היאוש על התקווה, הרוח על החומר ועוד... האור סימל כמעט את כל מה שטוב בעולם.
כנראה, לא לחינם עבדו אנשים את השמש והירח בזמנים קדומים כי הם אלו שהביאו את האור.
היום אנו גם יודעים שיש אמת בחשיבות שיחסו לאור ולשמש כי היא מקור האנרגיה על הכדור שלנו.

ומה ביהדות ?

אז גם במסורת וחגי ישראל יש את מוטיב האור ואפילו הרבה, אש התמיד שדלקה במקדש, המנורה, יש את חג האורים (חנוכה) ויש את הדלקת נרות שבת וחג ויש נרות נשמה ויש גם את ל"ג בעומר.

ל"ג בעומר המופיע בכותרת הוא החלק מסיפור האור עליו רציתי קצת לספר.

אז למה חוגגים את ל"ג בעומר ?

ל"ג בעומר זה יום בספירת העומר, ימים שנספרו מהיום הראשון של פסח ועד חג השבועות, חג מתן תורה במעמד הר סיני. על פי המסורת תקופה זו היא מאוד קשה וקרו בה בעבר דברים רעים ולכן אפילו מיישמים בימים אלו מנהגי אבלות.
המסורת מספרת שבעומר פרצה מגיפה בין תלמידיו של רבי עקיבא על שלא כיבדו זה את זה ובל"ג העומר פסקה כי החלו לנהוג אחרת וגם שביום זה נפטר תלמידו של רבי עקיבא, רבי שמעון בר יוחאי שעם פטירתו השאיר מורשת שלמה לתלמידיו שזכו ולכן כה רבה הייתה השמחה שבמותו לא תמה חוכמתו, גם כי מייחסים לו את כתיבת ספר הזוהר ספר הקבלה היהודית..ולכן חוגגים

איך ?

המנהג של הדלקת מדורות הוא בראש הרשימה כמזוהה ביותר עם חגיגת החג הזה.
בדיוק כמו שעשו בזמן העתיק כדי להעביר ידיעות ממקום למקום ובעיקר זכר לזאת שבזמן שלטון הרומאים בארץ, היהודים הדליקו מדורות כדי להצית את אש המרד נגד העידן החשוך של הכיבוש.

סופו של עניין

אי אפשר בלי אור וחיים ללא אש שייכים לפרהיסטוריה.
לכן, יש סיבה טובה לשמוח בחגי האש והאור אבל, צריך להיזהר גם לא להגזים כי לאש יש גם צד לא נעים.
כשלא משתמשים בה בתבונה האש מכלה וגם שורפת מפילה חורבן ומזהמת, אז אם אתם חוגגים ל"ג בעומר שימרו גם על עצמכם ושימרו על הסביבה כדי שזאת תהיה באמת אחלה מסיבה !
