It's a problem that's for sure. Here in southern KZN we regularly have fires in winter, usually caused by irresponsible people or arsonists. We've just had a fire in the Red Desert Nature Reserve, which was deliberately started. Very destructive. And there are also homeless people starting fires for warmth, which sometimes spread rapidly and cause havoc for the firefighters. The fire dept. usually burn firebreaks in the autumn opposite our school which is on the outskirts of the Red Desert. I assume you live inland as you mention frost.
