I purchased a 1963 Romanian AK-47 a couple years ago and decided that I was going to build it as my primary rifle. I started off with a tapco g2 trigger kit and side folding stock. Though the stock looks good in my opinion I plan on eventually swapping for a Magpul Zhukov stock in the near future.
Next I added the the Sampson manufacturing double length quad rail system which is amazing by the way and gives tons of options for mounting accessories. I then dropped the standard top cover for the Texas Weapon Systems Dogleg top cover wish allows for the mounting of optics and with the replacement of your rear sight allows the optics to retain zero even after opening the top cover. With all the large pieces done I dropped in a krebs custom safety and innovative ordinance ambidextrous mag release which allow me to toggle my safety lever without adjusting my grip on my Houge pistol grip. The innovative ordinance mag release allows you to drop the mag by sweeping your new mag down the left or right side of the weapon.
I then continued my build by adding a magpul angled forward grip as well as the magpul mbus back up iron sight. For convenience I added the Echo 9 3 single point sling adapter and a mock suppressor that directs the majority of the sound away from me as the shooter. Finally I finished up my build with a Bushnell T-25 micro dot and I love how smooth this AK fires with the legendary AK reliability I couldn't be happier with how it came out.
good!
