2018 Crypto Thoughts

Happy to finally write my first post on Steemit! Though I have been following along for the last few months, keeping an eye on a few of the top Crypto accounts (i.e. Haejin). Those accounts are great and all but don't provide a realistic enough viewpoint on the medium to long term of where this market is actually going.

I consider myself a research driven person and have spent the last 6 months diving into the Crypto world. This has proven to be quite the journey. I have tried to time the swings of the market, day trade, invest in ICO's, diversify my coin holdings, etc. What I have learned from countless hours of hand-on trading as well as watching and following blogs and Youtubers and news outlets is that this market is simply, in its early stages of growth.

I am still in the population that truly believes the blockchain technology is the future of various technological avenues and will advance our society further. However, this does not detract from how hard it is to keep confidence in the short term with so much negativity across many legitimate news outlets and social platforms.

This makes it even more crucial to conduct more thorough research and understand the product (coin) you are investing in so even if the short term looks shitty, you can be confident in the long term success. Finally, we must all remember that 2017 was really the first year that big money started to flood into the cryptocurrency market, and when huge gains are made in a short period of time, this will almost always be followed by a period of increased volatility while the market figures out how much it is actually worth (if anything at all!!).

In conclusion, until the panic selling by weak hands begins to subside, we are going to continue to see big time fluctuations...If you can find a way to buy the dip and sell at the highs, good for you, make money. But for me, I will continue to invest in the products that I believe have the most upside in the long term and I will HODL.

Don't be the Burger King guy...
