Last Fly-fishing of this year

in #fishing2 years ago

Welcome to a new fly fishing post.

in October we went for the last fly fishing of this season of this year. To end this season we head to the Traun reiver in Austria. Probably one of the best spots to end this season. The nature around the river is just beautiful and during the autumn time it has a uniqe athmosphere. I try to take some pictures to share this experience with you. Please enjoy!

We started the day early and wen to a spot we knew from our previous visits.

This is by far my favorite spot here and everytime i come here it is different.
P1050314.jpg
This time the water was hihger then i remembered and everthing was covered in thick fog.
P1050319.jpg
The current was strong and the water cold and clear.
P1050321.jpg
Time for me to grap my gear and start.

P1050329.jpg
After a while of unsucesfull fishing i decided to walk around and take some pictures of this awesome nature.
P1050344.jpg
There was a beaver dam. unfortunately could i not catch the beaver with my camera
P1050350.jpg
The colors of the trees and the fog made it all look very mystical.
P1050352.jpg
All the animals were quite shy and hard to capture.
P1050362.jpg
It was hard to sneak up on them.
P1050364.jpg
So i tryed my best from distance.
P1050367.jpg
A mystical tree within the water of the river.
P1050379.jpg
The sun was still covered by the fog.
P1050386.jpg
We only caught smaller fish and nothing really to show.
P1050394.JPG
But the wildlife around us was amazing. And there where thousands of crayfish around.
P1050409.jpg
The crayfish was easy to catch. But this is not what we came for and they were also carrying eggs so we let them go again.
P1050414.jpg
Here some pictures of the insects which are living in the river and are one of the main food sources here for trouts and other fish. This is a sedge fly larva.
P1050420.JPG
And here some freshwater shrimps
P1050434.JPG
Here a more detailed picture of a sedge fly larva. Cute little monsters.

We still visited a few other spots but the photos turned out to be not so good.

Even we did not catch big trouts, it was an amazing experience again. For me fishing means more then catching fish all the time it is more about being in the nature and appreciate it. So i can say it was a wonderful time and i can´t wait to come back here soon.

I hope you liked my post and feel free to leave a comment or a question i am happy to reply.

I really liked your photography. The place is also so clam. Beautiful environment.

Thank you, I am glad to hear that! Yes its really a nice place, photos can't actually show it. It's alwayore pretty in reality with the smell and noise around.

they are all pretty. I can't decide which one I like best.

🤗 I am happy to hear that. It's nice to get some positive feedback. Thank you for your nice comment and have a great day!

Beautiful photos and spectacular nature, it is suggestive! Also a friend of mine, who was a fly fishing master, often went to Austria to fish and told me about wonderful places.

Fishing is over for me too this year, it resumes in spring :).

Yea Austria has some nice spots 😊. I guess I will try to go out for pikeperch one ore 2 times still but besides this I also look forward to spring time next year! Thanks for your comment, much appreciated🙏

Yes, an excellent idea, the pike perch remains active even in the cold, you could have some great satisfaction. I see on social networks that they are still catching several pike in the lakes of northern Italy, maybe they are moving too. Wish you have a nice day :).

Thank you😊 I will post it in case I catch one!

Go and strike 😉.

really nice 👍

Thank you
