Spring is finally here to stay. It's been a rainy one so far, but on the nice days we've been able to get out to go fishing quite often.
I snapped a few photos along the way the last few weeks and finally found some time, so I thought I'd post them.
The first couple here are from a quick trip down the road one day after work. It was a nice calm evening so we just threw the fishing gear in the truck and headed down to the Annapolis River.
We've had little fires everywhere we've gone so far. I recently got a new knife, which came with a flint, so we've been able to successfully start a fire without a lighter or matches every time so far.
On our next trip, we used the electric bikes to go a little farther down the road. We found a one lane bridge to stop by and enjoy the sun while getting the lines in the water.
I brought the fly rod on this one and had a few casts. It was still too cold for the real fly's to be out, so the fish weren't falling for it.
No fish on this trip.
I've got rig up some sort of fishing rod holder for the bike. Maybe some sort of pipe strapped to the back that I can just slide the rod in when we want to go. I'll need to double it so I can take @landonator's rod as well.
Our latest trip we did today. We traveled up to Cape Breton last night and the weather was great today to get some outdoors time - especially considering it is supposed to rain for the next few days.
No fish on this one either, but we did see lots of different kinds of birds, have another fire (without matches) and found a cool little clearing to hang out for a few hours.
The train tracks are definitely looking weathered. It would be nice if they ripped them out and turned them into a walking trail like many other places around Nova Scotia. It would be amazing to get the electric bikes out this way and go along the old tracks as it's very scenic.
Until next time.
