Cereal bars are the ideal snack for any time of the day. They are easy to eat, cheap and are often considered a healthy option. However, not all cereal bars are as healthy as you think, did you know that a nutritious bar could contain a similar level of fat than the hamburger?
Many breakfast bars, energy bars and granola bars come with added sugars, fats and very few ingredients that are really beneficial to our bodies.
Although many cereal bars contain real fruit, most are full of preservatives, artificial colors and sweeteners, and even oils and fats. Due to a combination of low fiber and protein content and high saturated fat content, the bars are not as healthy as they contain the same calories as a hamburger.
After all it is worth considering the type of bar we want to ingest.
