Workout with Water Bottles!

in #fitness8 years ago

I'm a big fan of home workouts. They offer me the convenience of choosing when to workout, and the 'where' is taken care of. This is particularly helpful on days when lethargy rears its ugly head. Working out at home means I don't need to dress a certain way, or waste valuable minutes in traffic trying to get to the gym.

Home workouts, however, do come with one tiny problem -- they can easily get boring. The very factors that make them convenient -- at home, no trainer or company necessary, etc -- can quickly turn into negatives.

Several members of the TwitterGetsFitter tribe often reach out to me, asking for tips to make their home workouts more fun. I admit, it isn't the easiest thing, but here's one of my favourite tricks -- Use props!

WORKOUT WITH WATER BOTTLES.jpg

I was inspired to record this workout when my groceries were delivered. I know, not exactly earth-shattering. But there they were, two beautiful 2-litre bottles of water, just waiting to be bicep-curled!

Water bottles make great props, mainly because they're easily accessible. Pretty much every home has, or can easily find, them. For the video, I've used a pair of 2-litre bottles, which means they weigh approximately 2 kilos each. That's just enough resistance for me, since I'm still working on my arm strength. Use whatever weight works for you (though I think the next available size is a 5-litre jar, which wouldn't be very easy to workout with!)

So here's the workout! If you like it, head on over to my YouTube channel and give it a thumbs-up. If you'd like more such videos, hit Subscribe to let me know. :)

Until then, happy sweating! And don't forget to keep yourself hydrated in this hot hot summer.

You are too cute beside that little busy Doggy :)
I must try this workout

It's super fun, @mammasitta! And really leaves your arms sore. I love doing it :-D

I will try it for sure. I need to get rid of the flabby arm fat 😜

That's a great way to do workouts at home. It's easily accessible to everyone. You can also use schoolbags or sandbags if accessible. You can take it to the next level, if you can invest in a pair of dumbbell or resistance band.
Loved your post. :D
