Two Tips to Solve Your Weekend Gym Attendance (Lack of)

Drinks, pizza, netflix.

This describes the weekend of many millennials.  Hey! Back there, don't hide!

Anyways, our, hmmm, social life tends to get in the way of our fitness life. No secret there. When you're hungover, the gym seems like a trip the moon. So, here are 2 tips on breaking the barrier between you and the gym on the weekends.

Tip 1 - Spring for craft

This varies for some people, but I find that when I drink better quality beer or liquors, I wake up with less of a hangover than if I were to drink cheap beer, or tequila de mierda. Better quality also means consuming less. Let the drinks be an experience, rather than a tranquilizer.

Tip 2 - Skip the gym

You may truly not feel up to driving, it's snowing, you drank away your gas money. Whatever the case, if you can't actually make it to the gym, create an at home workout plan. I personally have a pull-up bar, which also allows for push-ups, I can do lunges, squats, planks, burpees, leg raises,  of other body-weighted exercises. These are great for a light weekend workout that you can accomplish in the comfort of your own home.

Tip 3 - Save your fun workouts for the weekend

If you have a cardio day, save it for the weekend. For me, it's much easier to get exercise after a night of drinking is basketball with friends, or some laps in the pool. Regardless, whatever your favorite exercise is, save it for the weekend, and theres a better chance you'll do it.
