Hackers Workout?

in #fitness6 years ago

A few years ago, the term "hack" got applied offline. There were "lifehacks", of which I came with a simple one to use a tool to clean a drain to clear a clog in my vacuum cleaner's hose. There were "packing hacks", which I apply now when I travel. There were even "healthy hacks", a way to make the age-old idea of substituting ingredients seem modern.

I realize that for the last few months, I've been doing "workout hacks". I've been taking exercises and workouts and modifying them to suit my resources and abilities. I've basically been doing variations on a "4x4" workout that was inspired by a WWE stars "recovery day" workout for several weeks. My current challenge, on hold due to a slight injury, is to work up to doing 100 burpees.

To get to this I may start applying two ways to build endurance. The first is called an "easy gleason"; you do one rep of an exercise the 1st minute, rest, do two reps the 2nd minute and so on. The next component is "ladders"; keep increasing reps until you get to a point and decrease until you get back to the start.

Community Legal Defense

Summer is coming, and in the United States at least, that may bring fasc out. Memorial Day, American Independence Day, the Anniversary of Charlottesville are all events that could be potential gathering events for the alt-right and their reactionary allies.

AntiFa will, hopefully, be masked up in defense and resistance. But what do they know about the legal aspects of defense. I plan, in the months to come, to provide some information. In the form of another, non-technical, hack!

I plan to take a book, written for martial artists, and refactor it for the folks on the front lines of the battle against fascists and the apparatus of the state that so often enable them. As a bloc chant says "Cops and Klan go hand in hand!"

This might seem a bit out of my scope. I am by no means a lawyer, nor am I qualified to instruct anyone on self-defense. I can take information, and refactor and refocus it, though. As someone who has been "masked up", I can see what will be useful and what can be left in the book.
