All of your feelings and emotions are a result of chemical reactions taking place in your body. Big smile from ear to ear, feeling pleasure and relaxation - this is the effect of endorphin - a popular hormone of happiness. But in what ways you can increase your endorphin levels?
The best way to do this is definitely sport. Our body loves physical exercises! Many of you have probably already noticed this. It can be the feeling of pure satisfaction after a completed workout and the joyful anticipation of the next one – or just the growing confidence in your own capabilities. This is the result of biochemical processes and the release of hormones of happiness. The production of endorphins exerts an emotional response to stress, manifesting itself in improving mood, increasing the strength and resilience of the body to pain allowing further effort that would otherwise not be possible. When you exercise, run, swim, ride a bike or dance, the production of happiness hormones increases, so you add energy and neutralize the negative effects of stress on the muscles and joints. What is more
the results of athletes show that the level of endorphins is increasing if the exercises are accompanied by rivalry. So it can be a good idea to think about choosing the discipline that you will be competing with others and feel happy about it :)
The other way to increase endorphin levels is laughter. Told jokes, watched funny cabaret or comedy. Everything that is able to trigger a smile on our face also drives the brain that produces more endorphins. So every day find as many reasons for laughter as you can!
One more way to mention is spicy food. Your tongue has receptors that react to spice by sending messages to your brain causing your brain to trigger the release of endorphins. But consider that eating a lot spicy food it’s is not necessarily healthy I truly encourage you to boost your happy hormones with various physical exercises! :)
I hope I have convinced you a little bit to regular activities and you’ll take pleasure and satisfaction of your workout! You can gain a lot, but the most important are: health, power and happiness!
Have a beautiful day everyone!
I knew most of this already except for the part about competition in sports and spicy foods. Are you familiar with the "runner's high"?
Yes, I read recently that it can lead to some kind of exercise addiction which is caused by an addiction to the endorphins produced by the runner's high. Did you know it? :)
Yes. I'm aware of that. But, having experienced the runner's high myself many times, I can say it's not a bad thing. There are people addicted to exercise who overdo it and become very unhealthy. And, they can't control themselves. Unfortunately, a lot of people also lose their lives because of it.
