A simple pyramid of protocol.
Being healthy does not mean you have to become a gym freak however it does mean you need to be consistent, disciplined and understand the meaning of self worth.
YOU HAVE TO PUT YOURSELF FIRST.
It is always worth it if you do.
Look to follow some basic ideals and apply them to your daily and weekly behavioural patterns and training.
Maybe consider these concepts.
Firstly – Growth Mindset!
Improve your overall mindset as this is integral to clarity and focus. It really comes down to your approach, your values and your attitude.
Your application to any task in life is controlled by your mindset so make sure you are aware of what is required. Emotion can help us drive forward but it generally passes in time and we must look to mental strength. Best thing to do is be clear, honest, make goals and chase them down.
Secondly – Eat Clean!
This does not mean live a boring life. It means making better choices and more often.
This is all relative to your goals and your overall happiness. Take responsibility for what you put in your mouth. Be aware of what your macro % should be based on your life and daily output and put an action plan of preparation in place. Again you don't need to be obsessed, however you could seek to be better informed and make better decisions.
Thirdly – Train Smart!
For me this is about balance, being effective with your time, training with intelligence, and focusing on your own mobility.
In light of this, be sure to have a training program that has thoughtful progression and intent towards your goals.
Lift, sprint and recover. Do cycles, add variety for flavour, chase personal bests, do team activities, and most importantly, talk to your coach about what you want to achieve. Get outside more often.
Fourthly – Recovery!
Anyone can train hard, however, it is what you do outside of training that supports your longevity and the best results.
Sleep! Rest! Stretch! Roll! Massage! Eat! Water! Sex! (In any order)
Move with intent!
Recover with intent!
Live with intent!
