I have been nominated by a fine man who goes by the name of @c0ff33a. He may have changed the way I use Steemit.
I now have to tell you 5 interesting facts about me. Here goes.
The only way is vinyl
My last year of living in the United Kingdom was 2014. I had not listened to vinyl for over 20 years. I had a few LPs hiding in the attic of my parent’s house. That's it.
I decided to buy a turntable (yes, it's serious, otherwise you call it a record player).
One fine day I went into a charity shop, in South Devon, England. There was a big crate of decent vinyl records on very good condition. Queen, The Moody Blues, Bruce Springsteen plus many more. I took them to the counter to see how much they were.
“50p each.”
Wow, 30 LPs for £15. The biggest problem was getting them home on the train.
I now have around 200 records, but most of them are stored in the UK. I get new albums delivered from Amazon to the United Arab Emirates.
My favourite bands are Manic Street Preachers, Wolf Alice, The Wildhearts and Von Hertzen Brothers.

Life’s biggest lesson, don’t let them tell you that it can't be done.
I was just the victim of a really bad mentor when I first started. It is hard to pick yourself up from that. It has an effect on your confidence.
I eventually got a fantastic mentor, it has been too long since I made contact, maybe this is the inspiration.
I’ve been teaching for over 10 years and I have the scars to prove it. Looking back, those people can go and do one. No more to be said. The lesson is here and it is a powerful one.
I love Star Wars
Like the millions of other people. I am a Star Wars fan who loves all the films. I don’t mind which films you like and don’t like, but some people need to get over themselves.
George Lucas always said that the films were made for 8 year olds. So when you watch Star Wars, you sit back and enjoy and watch it like an 8 year old.
The Last Jedi was amazing, I can’t wait to see it again. I love it because it took risks. A lot of people go on about Rogue One, but there was not so much pressure on that one, because it was outside of the main film series.
My wife is from Philippines and we have a house
Before I met my wife, she had already mostly built the large house in the Philippines. She used what savings she had for the project, with the help of her sister. The house is mostly complete. It is a large 4 bedroom house. A perfect place to stay in the summer. There are still some bits and bobs that need doing, but it is looking good.
I left everything behind to get married
It is not so easy to bring a spouse over to live in the UK. It has been made even harder by the present Prime Minister, who decided to be a git when she was the Home Secretary.
I left my life in England and came over to the United Arab Emirates, near Dubai. That was 3 years ago. I fixed myself up a job, got married and have a fantastic boy called Robbie.
Sometimes you have to make that life changing decision. That requires bravery. I’ve not looked back.

I love these 5 things posts! Great to learn more about you! I'm also a Star Wars fan, and I love Rogue One. As for being a teacher, good for you for ignoring whatever idiot said you couldn't do it. Ugh. You can do anything you put your mind to... even leave your home! I'm sorry it's so hard to bring a spouse to the UK, but I'm glad you and your beautiful family are together. Perhaps it will change in the future.

Edit, I lied, I just read it and commented. Rogue One is brilliant. That was some thing to pull off, where you get attached to characters from one single film. Felicity Jones was amazing.
Sorry for the tardy reply - as I nominated you I should really try harder! Very much swamped in Steemit at the moment - fell asleep while typing last nights post - and posted it with my nose half done! Had to do some hasty edits and cut it short. Vinyl is great, some good groups as well I too like the Manics and you can’t beat a bit of Queen as well. The house your wife built looks amazing, and your family is lovely. As life choices go I think you did the right thing and look to be have a great time for it. Super post and facts, looking forward to many more just need to find myself some free time.

I don't know if I mentioned, I got the Studio Collection of Queen on vinyl. All studio albums. Amazing.
By the way, no worries, sometimes life is busy. Steemit has been more fun this week, thanks to the groups I have joined.
