The thing is the NSFW filter is flawed because it literally takes it off the steemit.com website; Which makes it only view able by using TOR. If she put it under the NSFW filter it will cause it to were she wont even be able to look at it.
Really developers are working this out right now. In time they will make a check box for turning adult content on or off. Until then just don't open post that say NSFW.
IIUC, posts tagged NSFW are visible to people looking at the NSFW tag... which is the way it ought to be. for example there are many first-tagged nsfw posts in here https://steemit.com/created/nsfw
What we have is opt-in system, where you have to go looking in the "back room of the video store" if you want to see the porn.
What alexa seems to want is an opt-out system, where people have to ask not to have porn show up on their feed and she can spam everyone else.
Yeah but if were really honest here that is a form of censorship. Since the newsfeed is actually being divided, that is segregation; Segregation is a form of censor ship of a certain thing. Racism is a form of censorship of a certain color of skin or a nations personalities. Again the internet does not have this.
The "back of the room of the video store" is the old days when porn was segregated (AKA Censorship) from the rest of mainstream society. It's 2016, half the internet is filled with porn, the internet does not have segregation/censorship, I would like to keep it that way.
If everyone had the power to censor or put one part of the internet in the "back of the room" then the internet would be censored as fuck! That is what a fantasy is, a distorted reality. Filters are fine, because they are consciously choosing the reality you want to see; That is mastery! Mastery is the mute button or the filter to not see any NSFW material (Still needs to be created by devs)!
Repressing people is what really creates the most danger! Think of what the drug war and prohibition effects were on society! The "wealthiest" people with power of this world already distort reality too much as is.
This is not about just this post that @alexanova made or even about her joining in the first place; This just happened to be the crossroad that brought up this issue. Even having the ability to flag in the first place is already to close to censorship.
But I do believe in respecting each persons creation by giving the credit to it (Copyright). There is such that as a troll that recklessly attack for no reason, so I do believe that people should be able to stop abuse.
Yet even with liking that, I still feel mixed about the ability to flag someone; How easily it could become for individuals to become corrupt with power and abuse the flag system. That is why we need to have a better consensus of the proper way to use the flag system.
It is completely understandable why everyone is using the flag just based on there perspective of right and wrong.
