There have been a few stories in the news recently about people debating about the surface of the Earth again. A few people have said that they think the Earth is flat, and they have presented what they felt like was good enough proof to support their theory. And the ones who still hold the popular belief about the Earth being round are quick to ridicule these Flat Earth theorists.
In all actuality, I don't think that anyone can truly know for sure what type of surface the Earth has. But I'm sure that the debates will continue, and that the evidence will keep being presented. And the majority of the Earth's people will most likely continue to wonder why any of this matters.
I agree wholeheartedly with this assessment of the senselessness of arguing about what shape the Earth is in. One way or the other, it won't effect the ground you're standing on at the moment. And to realize that any given moment, the ground can be snatched out from under you, is the ultimate existential threat a person could face, regardless of the likelihood of it ever happening. Rest assured, the Creator fashioned the premises in which we find ourselves to provide all of our material needs. Our poor stewardship notwithstanding, we all should say a prayer of thanks to the ONE above for giving us all everything we need to be happy and to prosper so that we can help each other through this thing called life.
