I've always enjoyed these trees!
First off, I absolutely love creation! The plants, animals and everything else that we encounter out in the natural world are absolutely mind-blowing to me. This is one particular tree which also I am not aware of any dietary or medicinal benefits I would still consider growing.
I believe that this one is a type of magnolia tree that some people refer to as a "tulip tree." That name comes from the fact that these trees flower before the leaves bud and become covered in an amazing amount of tulip shaped flowers that are remarkably stunning. This one was at the house of @monotharch and his family, and while the flowers were fading, it was still a beautiful specimen. Here are some photos from yesterday. Enjoy!

I don’t know if any food or health benefits of the magnolia tree but I believe in the year 1900 a bill was passed in Louisiana to make the blossom of the magnolia the official state flower.

We are so blessed to get to live in such an incredible world with so many wonders in it, created for us to explore, learn about, and experience. Pretty awesome when we think about it! Love seeing all your posts about nature, a self sustaining lifestyle and how you interact so intimately with your surroundings. But what is most impressive for me is seeing you teach your children these methods and shaping their minds for the future. Too often in today's culture we see parents sitting at coffee shops with their kids and the parents just give their kids the ipad to keep them quiet. Refreshing to see what you're doing here. Trees like this are hard to find in my location. Came across it twice, I noticed when the sun dries the outer leaf, another fresh bud grows out. Nice photos

Wow, those are some really good shots! I really like the one with the sun shining through. I posted about Cherry Blossoms the other day and this reminded me of them. Have you seen them before? They have a festival in Japan every year to see the Cherry Blossoms bloom. Your friend has a beautiful tree, with the color fading and all!

Spring is such a beautiful time, when all seems to come to life again. In my area in Ontario we're still waiting for spring to start. Most is still snow covered.
I'm really looking forward to start seeing blossoms and other flowers to come.
