and again about photography on Steemit

poppies-empty field.jpg

Night here but i still awake and doing some kind of "research" what is in "Trending" photography category and what is most popular in the "New". Mostly are flowers. Very different images of a flowers. Badly composed, poorly cut and white ballance which affects the final color result absolutely not set and not corrected when taken in automatic mode.

More than this. Most of the flower's images are taken with very advanced cameras - smartphone cameras, but these colors and contrasts when expressed too bad are simply killing me.

Yes, everyone Is a photographer today, but not every image taken by everyone Is a photograph. And the more affordable are the high-res cameras, the more photographers around and more terrible the average level in terms of Art and Quality of an average photography taken by the average photographer.

But possible, i'm wrong. And to my luck i saw the only these terrible samples of something that should be much more beautiful even fluffy and kitschy.

I start this flowers photographs series and waiting for discussion about #flowersphotography.
Show me your fluffy colors or maybe black and white flowers please !

Happy shooting and good night !

no way, sorry.

Ha!

i know it's better to keep silent on these statements :-)))

I applaud you!

You're definitely not wrong mate. People really have no clue how to edit a photo or even take one for that matter. Sometimes, it really is sickening.

yes all the time

sadly you are correct, i am indeed new here in steemit but i do find the photography pretty average, or at least i see many shots that are simply not good and it takes me long time to score a great shot and a strong photography portfolio, yes i know this is not a photography driven platform like 500px, Ig, behance, flickr, thumblr, vero and so on but it would be nice to see in the future more high caliber shoots or tutorials and lessons to do better in photography or even samples of how to identify and create a powerful piece of visuals.

i wonder if it's up to us the professionals (i don't see myself as a photographer, i do like to shoot and i did went to school for it, i would call myself a man with a camera) to do that, should we be more strict and start 'thumbs down' on bad shots? or would it be offensive? many people don't like being criticised or find it personally hurting, i never know where to draw the line. I was gutted many times by others and it did hurt but i did learn and slowly moved to a better shooting places, how will we learn if we are not ready to take notes and try better.
i guess you are right about opening new channels and admin them and give proper view and criticism so you can build and over look a better growing community of epic shots.

thank you for these words !
"a man with a camera" - exactly how i say about me, even i always have two - one the regular mkii and one small film camera (i forget about smartphone camera) - and every camera has its own purpose in use and in results i would like to get.
Yes this platform is not about photography but tag #photography is about.
i think to use this tag less and really would like to find some more relevant and useful like #filmphotography for example - it's still clean and surprising.
also #photofeed and curated by me and very new #dailyinspiration :-)

Yeahhh the trending pages just make me sad...

also HOT ! we need another a SAD tab for these images :-)

I feel the same.
I'm not much in to flower photography, hope doesn't disappoint.

beautiful details !

You forgot to mention all the sunsets. 😂🤣 😂🤣

and a kitties plus dogs and ofcourse a selfies :-)))

As someone who searches the #photofeed almost each day... there are a TON of flowers!!

yes i know my friend ! my problem not with a subject but with the way of shooting and a lack of ability to learn with an amount of clicks :-)))

So "simple", but so beatiful! Very nice picture!

thank you very much !
