For some people who believe in the existence of astral beings, they can certainly understand the story you are saying. Old buildings that are not maintained, especially in the past the owners involved in various cases involving death will create an aura of horror. From a religious perspective the existence of jinn, ghosts or other forms will always look for an isolated place from human life. if their place has been constructed by humans, they will choose quiet, dark places near water sources such as bathrooms, warehouses, or corners of houses.
these spirits or astral beings will usually ask residents to leave their "home" while spreading threats will interfere if they do not obey, or even claim life as sacrifice.
In the case that you tell us we must be sure that humans are created in a more perfect condition. The evil spirits will be able to return to their position if we know how. Human strength that blends with God can defeat them. Obedience to the funds of the faith will help humans defeat evil forces.
if in our culture we can use a religious leader or spiritual figure who can handle it.
They may be conquered or driven out so as not to disturb the occupants of the house.
Another way that can be done is to live side by side without disturbing each other. When you first enter the haunted house say hello to the astral creatures that are there. say our arrival is not to disturb and we we don't interfere too.

I have heard that some people, before entering a haunted house, not only do an astral cleaning but ask permission from the spirits to be in those spaces. I think that living with these beings can be difficult, but if it is done with respect, it can be more bearable. Thank you for your comment, @rokhani.
