Who comments on this post. Especially for the people who just followed me 15 minutes ago.
I just got followed by ~28 people in the last 15 minutes, so I really doubt that I am that popular, let's be serious, I haven't even written a serious post in more than a month!
So if you just followed me, and you are a real human, just comment on this post, say it to my face that you are human, and you will receive an upvote. Even 100% upvote if you just followed me!
I should actually celebrate this number of followers, but I feel kinda strange to see this rapid growth, sorry :D

And here are a few words more or less about me.
Nice initiative. Human here :)
Hey @kabir88, how that you got to 1 reputation? Is it because you upvote your own comments? You know, that is not such a nice thing to do :)
By the way, you could read My Final Pleading For The Good of Steem and tell me if you find something valuable there ;)
Nice blog and I agree with a lot of what you say.
I upvote my own comments because I think they are valuable content. Which as a steem investor, I like to vote on.
As you can see, I try and spread as much of the vote as I can, but I normally struggle to find good content and comments.
A lot of plankton are posting spam so I use a lot of my steem power to flag them to keep this site reputable.
If you want to do any join initiative to encourage new users and small account holders, happy to work with you.
@kabir88
I will have to think abut this, I considered making a bot that encourages new people to engage, giving them small upvotes and comments about how important is to interact and make new friends. I will ask your support when I will be ready to launch it, but until then, I have to thank you so much for your help!
I noticed a significant increase in followers as well. Got about 100 followers within minutes, all bots. What is that all about? Who would benefit from this? That's pretty interesting. Usually nothing happens without somebody having some kind of advantage by doing it. Weird.
They have a purpose, to make resteem "services" that would take money in exchange for a resteem. They follow you because they hope some people will follow back, and when that happens and they reach a high number of followers, they open a resteem service like @hottopic.
I am trying to find a solution to this for some time, but I can't find a good one to get implemented. I have also opened an issue on github, if you have any suggestion about it, you could leave it under Your voice matters :)
It would be good to see the average value of STEEM Power held by all the followers of these resteem bots/humans (which some claim to be)
If their followers are all plankton then the resteem service makes little commercial sense.
Maybe you can make something similar to steembottracker but for resteemers? That would put a lot of them out of business.
Wow, this is a really good idea, I will see what I can do about it, thanks a lot for sharing!
Thanks, please keep me posted on progress.
I would love to see STEEM grow and become more useable.
It's a bit like cleaning your house before inviting guests. I am not pushing steem on Facebook or Twitter because if people come now, they won't stick around
This is entirely true, very few people are staying on the platform these days, but with time it will get better. I will keep you updated!
Got it, thanks! That makes sense. Wherever there is a nickel to be made, an a$$hole will try to take advantage of the naivety of the sheeple :)
I am glad that I was helpful :D
I thought I was following you....mmm...strange.
I'm on a 'new following' list....I feel a slump going on, in steemit...
Feels like a slump for me as well. So many people I used to converse with are not posting anymore. I now have 700 followers and average 20 upvotes on a post. That does not make much sense...
I’m following and human :)
Here you go, thank you so much!
Hi me just Andrew, @mejustandrew
I have some bad news for you. According to steemspectacles (https://www.steemspectacles.com/@mejustandrew/followers), the vast majority of your followers are either dead or simply ignoring you. You can see it in the pic below:
.
It's a good initiative to offer free dosh to see who is really human and who is just a bot.
It's also interesting to see how many people commented here but did not bother to upvote you. That's sad.
Yeah, I know that this was going to happen when added free upvotes in the title :)) And I believed that I had a big number of dead followers, some of them I am even aware of leaving Steem for good, which is so sad. In this post which you have read some time ago, I even described the phenomena. I am happy that I have even a small number of active followers, and some of them upvoted this post without commenting so it really reveals the fact that some people are not here for money which is great!
After all, thank you so much for coming by and upvoting the post, and also for taking the time to share with me the status of my followers which is sad, indeed :))
I checked your profile too, yesterday if I remember well, and realized that even though you are not posting so much, you come here almost daily to comment which made me feel better.
Don't hesitate to write short posts ;)
I am working on a couple of posts. One is the movements of bitcoin in the last few moths. I don't have a conclusion yet, but my feeling is that it won't be good. The second post will be called the life and times of Satoshi. His biography. it takes time. I have to pay the bills too... LOL
You always keep the best for rare articles, I will look forward to see it! About Bitcoin, I am sure that it won't be around for very much longer, there are a lot of good alternatives to it, and if you take a look at this site you would see that it has its own dangers, from which, the fact that it is easily exposed to a 51% attack, not to mention the energy consuming PoW, slow transactions and high fees, and the fact that it can't scale anylonger. The only reason why it will stay in the top for a while is because it is popular :)
You have to pay your bills, this is another reason to make some short posts :D
I never believed you, until I saw the upvotes you gave to the comments, I hope to be like you someday, steemit needs people like you, good stuff.
Of course I keep my promises :)) Thank you so much, you made my day better!
Hey! I’m new on Steemit, I wrote my first post 4 days ago. I notice that every time I posted something 10 or more people started to follow me. As a newbie I thought it was normal, now I just wonder how many of them are real 😰 anyway, I’m a human!
Funny comment! And indeed, many of the followers these days are bots, I don't know why they have exploded so much, but basically you should not follow somebody only because he follows you. Also as a new person to this platform, you should focus on making friends, because otherwise nothing is funny here, as anywhere else. If you keep interacting with others, everything will turn out great for you, I am sure of that!
Thanks for coming by, I am glad that you are a human :D
Ahaha thanks! I appreciate your advices too. I really need them because I think Steemit is a little bit confusing at the beginning. I will follow your words for sure.
Thank you again and have a good one! :)
No problem, whenever you have question, don't hesitate to ask! I was so sad to see people with potential leaving the platform in time and I try to help preventing this phenomena as much as I can :D
Thank you so much!
Hello, Andrew. I'm not here for the upvote, I saw the title and it reminded me of a Steemian who used to reward all of his commentators on each post. When I saw this post, I thought: They're gonna swarm this poor guy, just like the other one who would use up a lot of his VP on comments.
Magical followers
I noticed this issue a few weeks ago. Every time I published a new post, I'd get a spike in new followers and wondered what was going on. Your explanation makes perfect sense.
I too, have struggled with interaction and tested out the upvote services to see the results. Yes, you get votes, but they also drain your wallet. I've tried commenting on others posts to ferret out real people, but rarely get sustained real connections in return.
The Whales are too busy to respond and the new people just want upvotes or follow for follow. Steemit Chat used to be more productive, but now It's just friends talking to each other. Discord is a complete waste of time. Pop in and say hello or try to join a conversation? and no response.
Shorter posts? Maybe...
My last post Steemit Special Report (not a plug) was done without the use of an upvote service, and you can see the results. You're damned if you use the upvote services and ignored if you don't. It's a real catch-22. Not one to give up, I'm going to keep trying to interact, as I really believe in this platform.
I'm about to finish up my longest post yet about a friend who turned out to be a Psychopath and wondering if I should even bother. However, I really think it might help some people, so in the end, I'll likely hit that "post" button. Cheers! :)
Wow, nice comment! Sorry because I can't write a decent enough response to your comment, but I am not currently at home :)
There is indeed a lack of interaction here, but let's be us better whales than the ones today, Steem offers us that chance!
I like free upvotes!
Everybody likes them :))
Oh those followers are bots. No offense but those magical followers are bots trying to hide their origins and probably took advantage of steemit free delagtions
Its not like the delegations are worth anything, whats the point
you get 15 free steem delegations. those 15*25=375 steem power which is about 15 cent upvotes
Actually I believe that they want to make resteem services, I have talked a lot about it recently and even opened an issue on Steem github with the hope that this process can be stopped...
This is exactly what I didn't wanted to hear so what can I say, the truth is not something we always like...
I'm following. Appreciate a fellow steemian trying to support the platform.
Hey, thank you so much!
I just follow you, please follow me
I won't follow you because you ask me to, followers are much harder to get than upvotes, they should visit your profile, check if they like how you write, or the topics you post about and then if they decide that they want to see your posts more often, they will start following you.
For the moment you only receive an upvote, and in time, I am sure you will get more followers!
Lol im humaaaan, but i think i followed you first when i got here...and no your post are cool, i just unfollowed you and followed you again though
That's some good thing to hear, thanks for coming by, unfortunately you are not part of that 28 people, but here you go :))
Aw G thanks
you are great because you are helping peoples.
Thank you so much, you are awesome too!
Hello am new here pls upvot
Here you go, don't forget to come again with better comments for better upvotes :D
Thanks i appreciate it
I just followed you - not for an upvote - but saw you from @swissclive comment.
That's it.
The slump in interactions with users definitely 'feels' on the decline this last 2 weeks or so, so time to add some more people and build it up again...
...you are on probation!
lmao.
Okay, thank you so much for your follow, @swissclive is indeed a good man, and it seems that he helps me even when he does not specifically wants that :))
Indeed, we need to build more interaction here, and I was so glad that this post succeeded to boost it a bit, it was definitely unexpected for me to see such a big number of people interacting here!
@swissclive is indeed a very cool dude...( or woman? I dunno to be honest) I never see him in my threads anymore - - I just realized it earlier... Hence being here..
Do you spend time on discord? - it seems many people do - networking and all that? I don't - at all.
Very time consuming, although potentially good for your blog - but I am not that interested in chatting live - I argue too much as it is! lol.
I have spend some time in discord, not chatting, but finding information, participating at Steem Witness forum, asking about development and technical stuff and supporting different communities, and very rarely chatting with friends :D
Discord is a really good tool, when used properly!
Hey @mejustandrew! you seem like a steemit power user. Any chance you'd like to try our new cross platform mobile app? We've added things missing from steemit like push notifications, user mentions, and chatting with other users. We’re also giving away free STEEM if you invite new users to the app. You can download the app here for iOS:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/vapor-a-steem-app/id1359525246
or here for Android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vapor
We're always looking ways to improve the app, so if you have any feedback we'd love to hear it!
Wow, you have worked a bit to make apps for both android and ios. My answer may not be the one you are looking for, because I don't want to use almost any extra application on my phone, because of security reasons. Sorry :)
PS: no vote for you, because this message is copy-paste to other people's articles, Sorry again...
No problem!
Sorry to hear that, but I completely understand!
Hey, I really like your mindset, keep it positive, I know it will bring you better things than anything else!
Resteemed by @resteembot! Good Luck!
The resteem was paid by @lol.games
Check @resteembot's introduction post or the other great posts I already resteemed.
