It's a slow day in a couple of ways. The Steemit site has been very slow earlier today and that results in less posts to look at as people struggle to post anything. At least we may get a chance to catch up.
As is my habit I am posting some suggestions of people you may want to follow. Steemit does not have a system to suggest them automatically, so this may be useful to you. Busy.org does list some 'Interesting People'
You can click below it to discover more. It seems to be those with the top reputations, who may not necessarily be the most interesting to you. I feel you should follow those who share your interests so that using this service is fun and not just a chore. When you are not making much you need something to keep you coming back. Think about who you would follow if you were not getting paid.
So here are my suggestions for this week:
- @skyleap is an artist from Japan who drew my avatar and those of many other Steemians. He will draw you too for a small fee.
- @jumowa is in Germany. He likes memes and computer games. He also operates the #runforsteem challenge that pays you to post about your runs.
- @itfoolsamonster draws comics that make you think.
- @jpgaltmiller is another comic artist. Some of his comics may be considered 'NSFW', but they are worth a look if you are not worried about that.
- @inber is an artist who shares my liking of Doctor Who. She even drew me as the Doctor!
Please share your suggestions here in the comments or do your own #followfriday post if you like. I'm happy to see others do that. It helps to build the community.

I'd recommend two steemians for #followfriday. They have very different interests but the reason I'm recommending them is because of their contribution to the community:
@ethandsmith writes quality posts on a variety of topics. At the moment, he is writing an introduction to steemit which is very comprehensive. He writes reviews of games and books, posts about his family and everyday life and has run a very successful fundraising campaign for books and wobbly stools for his wife's school. He is unfailingly courteous and has certainly always responded to my comments.
@crosheille is a homeschooler and crafter and hosts and supports the #needleworkmonday community. She really encourages posters to interact with each other and is also unfailingly courteous and responsive to commenters. She has a family of four young children and is expecting another daughter, she encourages joint community initiatives like #coffeehour with @fibreartists on discord and she also produces handcrafted items for sale. I am not sure where she gets all the time!
I can't forget @nathen007 who always makes me laugh (and also responds to my comments) 😊

I have seen people mentioning that Steemit was down which is quite a concern for me i hope it does not happen again but like you say there are alternatives though i am used to Steemit...
Also very slow here in South Africa Sir @steevc. Uwe suggested an alternative that I will be looking at. Had 3 "Transaction error" signal today. Blessings!

I'm finding it quite hard to connect to people with my interests, and then when I do, people who reciprocate.
I'll certainty look up @skyleap as I love creativity as well as the others your mention.
I follow a lot, but have to limit the list or Steemit becomes unusable for me. I hope we'll get ways to filter it eventually. You can do this with the Steem-Plus extension for now
Well I have been having the problem the whole day !
Many have faced the same problem I have been seeing people really getting annoyed for it sometimes this kind of issue happens we should have little patience,the team behind Steemit I am thinking are working hard to find a soltuion.
Your tips will sure help few to get around .Used busy.org for some time .Hope the issue gets fixed soon !

I have today wasn't just a slow day, I want to say, that I haven't a day on Steemit in general. It's annoying, because I have only a few hours a day to work on the platform while my daughter sleeps. I hope, it won't happen again in the future.

steemit also not opening today on desktop , many times error comes, you write article really excellent.

I've not heard why it was slow, but it has been attacked by bad people before. Check out the alternative sites in case this happens again
There has been a disturbance in the force today for sure! I have never tried the other sites yet since I'm here for the Alexa ranking, but now maybe I will.
