It's the end of another week and there's always some drama on Steemit and in the world of cryptocurrencies. Life must go on. I think we still need to wait a while before Steemit and Steem really take off. We're at around 600k accounts, but most are inactive. When we get to hundreds of thousands of active users then the world will really take notice.
The site is getting more attention. It keeps climbing the Alexa ranks. It's never been this high before. It's in the top 200 in Korea!
I'd like to highlight some people who I think are doing good work to spread the word about Steemit.

Good luck. Getting up each further rung will get harder, but it's heading in the right direction. Not bad without a real advertising campaign. That may come with hardfork 20

I've begun a livestream on Facebook, monday - friday 7am to talk to friends and family about Bitcoin, Blockchain, and especially Steem. Today's episode was focussed entirely on steem. We'll see how it goes.

It is encouraging to see others doing their part. I'm inspired by Haijin to share my own charts. And I did one yesterday for Steem. I was not expecting to be so optimistic. But based just on some fundamental and technical analysis, steem is very bullish in 2018. If the Fibonacci extensions are obeyed the way the fibonacci retracements were, we are looking at 300% gains in the next 6-12 months.
HODL and all the best. I curate some facebook groups including "SteemitCity" and "ImprovCoin" to build a bridge for fellow Improv Artists to Steem. We even have a page now, yet we have not done anything with it yet: @improvcoin.
Keep up the good work. To be honest I'm not sure I believe some of the analysis out there. Real price changes are driven by external factors. Not that I speculate in it anyway
I have finally had success with getting people to sign up. I think the media's mention of the Bitcoin high has gotten some sceptics to reconsider.
@wwf is really amazing at bringing over people to the steemit platform, but he also inspires so many people too and mentors them on how to do well here.

I had seen the stat of 600,000 accounts but what is a good source to see how many are active? I'd like to book mark it.
I don't know of an easy way to check the number of accounts. I tend to find a new user and check their ID on steemd, e.g. https://steemd.com/@rehmatkhan
A lot of people I know are trying their best to propagate the good news of Steemit among which is @samest he signed me up and many other people, also I know kf @tojukaka who travels to Ghana from Nigeria with his crew to go and conduct a seminar on the awareness of Steemit, those guys are doing great job to help Steemit community and I must have started using my facebook personal page named "Toks crytocurrency" to advertise Steemit. Steemit... Forward ever Backward never.

Cool stats but how can we show up there if Steemit is only one UI of many that use the Steem blockchain?
This is a great project and I wish you huge success in Nigeria. There are many Nigerians here in Europe that are suffering after coming here to seek a better life. I'd be interested in sharing your presentations with them here.

With the passage of time Alexa Rank is growing. Some people has aimed to sign up some new people in the platform sounds good. I have signed up almost 35 people in my area and 80% are active. Thanks for your update on steemit Alexa Ranks @steevc. Keep it up!
After reading your post i went through some stats of steem. It looks like steem really picked up in the middle of November 2017. The value also went up by 5 times. I wish i was earlier here. It could have been easy for me to make an investment back then since it did not cost that much.
Unless one uses upvote bots or has whale friends it becomes very hard to make money on steemit. It takes a lot of effort to even earn 1 dollar a day. Since the non investors are not earning that much they are remaining in-active. Steemit has to do something to make them to continue to use.
You just need to build a following with good content. It takes time. I don't have whales for friends, but I do okay

I have been following @stephenkendal for a while, and he is doing a really good job with organizing events that aim to bring new people to Steemit. He's been handing out flyers and Steem promotional stuff at so many different locations, and even organized other people and groups to do the same. I have no idea how many users he must have brought in here, but it's a lot!
I believe that steemit community will continue growing. I personally joined steemit few days ago and i already like it a lot, community is really amazing here. Thanks for sharing.
