"There wasn't much crime in the west. What criminals there were knew the deal.
Likely execution, by rope, or bullet."

Really? When you make such statements, it would be nice if you actually knew what you were talking about. In any event, these stats should surprise you.

From Wikipedia...

From Wikipedia "Crime in the United States"

From Wikipedia "In the long term, violent crime in the United States has been in decline since colonial times. The homicide rate has been estimated to be over 30 per 100,000 people in 1700, dropping to under 20 by 1800, and to under 10 by 1900"

"Crime is much more distributed today."

Not really!

"You calling more cops a bonus?"

Absolutely!

"Because it looks to me like more cops, more crime."

Perhaps to you, buy in the real world, well documented stats prove otherwise.

"Put your head back in your ass, statist."

And you talk about lack of class? Indeed!

Crime in the United States
Crime in the United States has been recorded since colonization. Crime rates have varied over time, with a sharp rise after 1963, reaching a broad bulging peak between the 1970s and early 1990s. Since then, crime has declined significantly and current crime rates are approximately the same as those of the 1960s.Statistics on specific crimes are indexed in the annual Uniform Crime Reports by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and by annual National Crime Victimization Surveys by the Bureau of Justice Statistics. In addition to the primary Uniform Crime Report known as Crime in the United States, the FBI publishes annual reports on the status of law enforcement in the United States.
