After hours of reading posts, commenting with my thoughts, learning about so many different subjects and working on my own post, I thought some comfort food might be good :)
And off we go to Yong He Eating House where they serve Taiwanese snacks 24/7. Yes, it seems like they never close so it's puzzling why then do they even have shuttles and gates ;)
Located at 458 Geylang Road Lorong 24A Singapore 389417, most local taxi, Grab and Uber drivers would be familiar with this place as they have been around for decades, although they shifted locations around the area a few times.
They are known for their crispy freshly fried Youtiao 油条 - long golden-brown deep-fried strip of dough and equally fresh Dou Jiang 豆漿 - Soy milk.
If you are wondering what we thought of them, the following 2 photos should give you some clues.
Besides that they also serve many other snacks that are delicious. Here's their menu.
In case you needed more choices, here's the other side of the menu.
Well, since they offered choices, we had to take them... at least a little ;)
I like these a lot... Steamed Pork Dumplings / Xiao Long Bao 小笼包 - traditionally contain minced pork wrapped in a delicate dough skin, which is then pleated, twisted at the top and steamed.
And here are some Char Siew Bao 叉烧包 - The buns are filled with barbecue-flavored char siew pork.
One's peeled open so you can see the inside of the bun.
I also like these and order them from any place that offer them, not all I have tried are nice though but these are fine. And they are called Siu mai 烧卖 - Chinese pork and shrimp siu mai are a dim sum classic.
All rather satisfying comfort food but the best part was the rather economical total bill :) $19.70 Singapore Dollars.
At the time of writing US$1 is approximately SGD$1.40.
All that should provide enough calories for this post and a little more ;)
We are all on a journey, remember to enjoy the sights and sounds along the way, and do good as much as possible.
Alex

Amazing! I like the Hong Kong version more in the 'teahouses'. There are a lot of choices of Dim Sum as well. Should try this out!
Yes, I like those too but I guess I could only choose one tonight ;)
Man that all looks so good.
They tasted great too :)
Everything looks delightful!
Happy weekend to you and your family!
Thanks, have a fantastic weekend too :)
