Green Smoothie Of The Day: Fresh Berries, Chard, and Almond Milk

Lazy morning, great breakfast! Sorry for the not so clear pics. They are taken with my phone since I was too lazy to get my camera out... but either way, if you are looking for a superfood breakfast then is the one.

Why coconut oil in a smoothie you may ask... well it helps to absorb more nutrients from the other foods and curbs the appetite too, making sure this smoothie will get you to the next meal or snack without feeling hungry.

Ingredients (serves 2 for breakfast)

2 cups chard
1 cup blueberries
1 cup strawberries
1 small banana
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 cup water
1-2 tbsp extra-virgin coconut oil

Directions

  1. Blend chard, almond milk, and water until smooth. Add remaining ingredients and blend again.
  2. If the smoothie is too thick for you, add more water or almond milk. If you have a high-speed blender, you can throw in everything at once.
    3.. Add superfoods - such as goji berries, moringa powder, chia seeds, or hemp hearts - if you like
