Haha! I ran into the same issues when we first moved to Cambodia. Though we were able to convince our local store to source some of the things we love and we bring a lot every time we travel. Either way, with the limited supplies I'm sure it tasted great... maybe not the Mexican flavor you were after.... but making everything from scratch with fresh ingredients always tastes good.... and luckily you brought the magic spice mix.... Thanks a lot, @amy-goodrich! Indeed, people should do something about it, it would be so cool if they started growing some of the vegetables that are crucial when cooking south American meals, besides the climate allows! It was a fun experience and I see what I'd need to bring if I were to make anything over here again!
