After I paid internet bills (damn PLDT), i was walking around and came across this mini cafe - Ma'am Olive's Cafe. They are located at #22 Kessing St., Olongapo City, Philippines (just a few blocks away from my house). If you want to check them out, this is their Facebook page
It is at that street at the back of Circle J store (does that make sense? lol). The moment you spot this sign, don't hesitate to go right in. You enter at the side, just saying in case you are like me who stupidly looked for an entrance at the front (LOL).
It was a pretty small, humble start-up cafe (i guess). Opening the door would give you this view. It has CHILL written all over the place - my type of cafe. The owner, management, and the workers were all pretty friendly too. I was able to have mini conversations with some. Turns out, they know my brothers (and sister). What a small world (well they live near you, what do you expect ANGE).
They could satisfy your inner foodie, your sweet tooth, and your frappe or coffee addiction. Their menu ranges from Php50 - Php200 (approximately $1-$4). If you are a group of 10, it would be better to make a reservation, specially on busy days as the cafe wouldn't be able to accommodate a lot of people. That would save you from waiting for others to finish up but in days such as this, i think it will be okay to just show up without a reservation.
After you have made your order at the counter, they would give you a number such as this.
Initially, I ordered matcha green tea frappe which only set me back by Php100 (about $2). I sat near the entrance and the windows. I have a view of the whole cafe as well as the outside. Its just a personal preference, i like seeing everything.
I changed seats after a while, at the farthest now, still having full view of the surrounding. I then ordered cheesecake to go along my frappe (yum). There's a lot of aesthetic and IG worthy spots there. If you love photography, you could check the place. However, the lighting is on the dim side. I personally like it because of the cozy vibes (i hate light it hurts my eyes) but maybe for some, it is not their cup of tea.
While I was there, a group of students were enjoying youthful socialization hahahaha. Some of them jokingly asked for a photo, which i took quite seriously. Here are some of the their shots.
If you happen to be on the area, maybe you should give this local cafe a try. It's a perfect place for family time, hangouts, catching up, reading books, and of course, intellectual conversations over coffee. I haven't tried their rice meals but i probably would next time (i live nearby). I'll also make sure that i'll bring friends with me (EY AND ELAINE!!!). If you live near here, maybe we could try their rice meals together next time.
