Do you think butter is unhealthy because it contains saturated fat? Don't make a quick decision to replace butter with margarine. Take it easy.
Because today I made a breakfast creation from buttered toast, I then deepened the study of Butter VS Margarin.
This is certainly interesting to discuss because people are usually worried about the saturated fat found in butter. Let's discuss a few things why butter is considered safe, more than margarine.
You may feel guilty all this time if you put butter on toast. Really, buttered toast is difficult to avoid, especially for breakfast which is super simple and saves time, also saves money.
Some people begin to replace butter with margarine because margarine is considered healthier. But is that really the case?
Reasons Why Butter was initially considered unhealthy
Butter is considered bad for health due to saturated fat levels which are associated with an increased risk of heart disease. Butter is considered a culinary arts crime which then reduces the amount of butter consumption for some time in Americans.
In the late 1990s, the decline in butter consumption was due to scientists increasingly emphasizing trans fat could pose a serious risk compared to other fats for heart disease.
Americans’ shift from butter to margarine has been a back and forth battle. Sean O'Keefe, professor and food scientist at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, believes it has to do with how society has viewed trans fats over the years. "In the 60s and 70s, before trans fats were really thought to be bad, we looked at margarine and said it was healthier because it didn't have as much saturated fat. The opposite is the case today."
Via Medical Daily.
In fact, there has never been a good study about replacing butter with margarine to reduce the risk of a heart attack.
Focusing on saturated fat in the butter turns out to be a bad thing because it ignores the fact about the worse trans fat in margarine.
Butter is unlikely to harm health, but margarine could be deadly
The title of the article published via The Telegraph is quite attention-grabbing. After people replace butter with margarine, then there is research that seems to reverse the fact that butter is considered better than margarine.
The aspects that make butter better than margarine are saturated fat and trans fat.
Many studies have revealed the same thing that the aspect of trans fat in margarine that makes it bad for health increases bad cholesterol in the human body.
Trans unsaturated fats or trans fats - are mainly produced industrially from plant oils for use in kinds of margarine, snack foods, and packaged baked goods.
The most important difference is that butter contains saturated fat and many kinds of margarine contain trans fats.
Although butter contains high cholesterol and saturated fat, margarine is not any better when it comes to trans fat. Typically, margarine is made by adding hydrogen to vegetable oil, as ingredients such as soybean and corn oils are liquid at room temperature. Therefore, the hydrogenation process can produce trans fats and increase bad cholesterol in the human body.
Trans fat raises LDL (bad) cholesterol significantly while lowering HDL (good) cholesterol.
Saturated fat also raises LDL (bad) cholesterol, but less than trans fats, and does not affect HDL.
Consumption of industrial trans fats was associated with a 34 percent increase in death, a 28 percent increased risk of death from coronary heart disease, and a 21 percent increase in the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Conclusion
Butter is arguably safe when compared with margarine. You do not need to feel very guilty when applying beautiful and tasteful butter to your breakfast toast.
I am among those who like to use butter for the toast at breakfast. Simple, and its deliciousness is never doubted.
But even so, we must always try to keep our butter intake not to be too excessive.
Buttered Flower Toasts
Then, let's see how I shape my toast into flower petals.
I can immediately eat delicious slices of buttered toast. But then trying new things is worth trying while there is free time.
The method is quite easy, you only need to make thin slices of bread.
After the bread becomes thin, shape it into several round shapes. Then apply butter.
The round slices which have been spread with butter are then formed in parallel and then rolled up to form flower petals as below.
Then, toast the flower-shaped bread slice.
Serve with your favorite drink for breakfast. Really really easy, right?
It's also very suitable for children's supplies and can be served with peanut butter and fruit.

I use butter all the time. Obviously in moderate amounts but our bodies actually need those lipids and cholesterols. Butter is a great source for them... in moderation of course.
Butter never forgetten :)
