Our 2 year old peach tree provided us with these 8 juicy fruits today!
Its been a learning experience, from dealing with a spring blight, to hesitantly removing up to 100 tiny peaches that were too close together. Not to mention the lack of rain in July, and the thirsty earwigs that destroyed many of our young fruits.
The sweet sticky peach juice running down our chins today made it all worthwhile!
Congratulations after all that work! They look juicy and delicious!
Thanks for stopping by. Yes they were!
Oooh just beautiful, a lovely bounty!
Thank you! We are so blessed 😀
When I was three years old, I planted two peach pits in the back yard while my mom rolled her eyes but humored me. She assumed it wasn't that easy. Three years later we had our first peach crop and she talked about it for years like I was amazing (silly, I know). It sounds like we had an easier time of it, but whenever I read of someone getting fresh-from-the-tree peaches, it makes me happy. :-)
My dad used to plant peach pits when I was a kid. We always had peach trees in our yard...in all stages of development. Home grown peaches make me happy too! 😀
Nicaragua....aqua for my bunghole.....arriba...
Beautiful! Hopefully next year it will be double!
Wouldn't that be wonderful! Thanks for stopping by.
Those look absolutely amazing. Good job! There isn't a more fulfilling feeling than growing, eating and preserving your own food. All these small accumulative lessons make for a wealth of knowledge down the road.
In my case, this knowledge was lost over the generations and had to be releaned, through trial and error. I'm happy to be passing some of mine on to the younger ones.
