I love seasonal drinks and food. I created this artisanal cocktail recipe using fresh local citrus, cherries, rosemary, and maple, exquisite flavors inspired by Winter. I call it January Cocktail, I served it the other night to my guests and received rave reviews! Recipe below.
January Cocktail:
Fill glass with ice
2 oz Makers Mark
2 oz Citrus mix
(Using a citrus juicer, juice an equal number of Meyer lemons and tangerines. Strain if desired. Add 3 parts maple syrup to 4 parts juice, if you prefer less sweet which is what I did, use 1:2 ratio.)
Drop in 3 cherries (I defrosted frozen ones)
Top with soda water
Throw in a 4 inch spring of rosemary
Rim the glass with a candied orange slice
Throw in a straw
