Milk tea, specifically HK milk tea, is one of my favorite caffeinated beverages and I would like to share with Steemians what it is. Comparatively, HK style milk tea is similar to an espresso in the coffee world. It is strong in your face flavor that will surely wake you up and keep you going for the rest of the day. Sadly is not available everywhere and even if you do come across one, it not guaranteed it is authentic. I have tried many different places that offer it in California, which has a large number of Chinese cafes I have been disappointed by most.
Iced Milk Tea
You can have it cold or hot, sweet or plain. Drink it during breakfast or lunch typically never after 3 pm or 15:00 since it would make it difficult for you to sleep.
Sadly I have been able to find it only in Hong Kong, Macau, and the southern part of China. If you are ever around the area, you should give it a try if you like lattes.
I have been tinkering around for awhile to replicate the flavors, I have gotten awfully close, better than any I can find locally. I would post the recipe next time. If you guys like to know follow me and have a great day!
In my country we serve what is called "Teh Tarik" which is milk tea that is specially made. But the best tea i've ever tried is Masala tea. An Indian milk tea where they mix the masala spice and it has a really strong flavour. As much as I love tea, I am a coffee man myself! Cheers
Thanks for sharing! I had Indian milk tea before (not sure about authenticity) but I would say it's very similar but the biggest difference is that it is not spiced.
