Hi Guys. Now time for take one’s ease
Today i'm help discover you something new about Whiskey. I hope you like it !

Lets begin our journey

Whiskey

Whiskey is liquid sunshine.... or an alcoholic beverage that is distilled from fermented grain mash. The liquor is then aged in wooden casks until it is sold.

“Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough.”

Mark Twain
Whiskey is the generic term given to distilled spirits made from grain mash. Bourbon, Rye and Scotch are all types of whiskey; as such they are all similar in taste and appearance.
The difference between the types of whiskey depend on the types of grain used, the location in which it was distilled, the length of ageing and the type of casks used in the process.
In next post ill talk to you about "The Difference Between Bourbon, Scotch, Rye, Irish."

How to drink

The first question a new whiskey drinker asks is which type of whiskey to try first. My favorite type whiskey is Scotch Ballantines and Johnnie Walker.

American Bourbon or Scottish Scotch or Irish Whiskey ?

Drinkers often start with bourbon because of the taste accessibility and price point. Eventually, many connoisseurs want to move toward scotch.

American whiskey — tends to be sweeter than other whiskies. They have subcategories:
Bourbon — distilled from at least 51% corn.
Rye — distilled from at least 51% rye.
Tennessee — bourbon that is distilled in Tennessee and filtered through charcoal.

Scotch whisky — tends to have smoky and earthy flavors. Own subcategories:
Blended Scotch — literally just a blend of one or more Scotch whiskies.
Single malt Scotch — distilled at a single distillery from malted barley.

Irish whiskey — tends to be light-bodied, but more robust than Canadian whiskey. Distilled in Ireland, aged at least 3 years.

Canadian whiskey — tends to be light-bodied and fruity. Distilled in Canada and aged at least 3 years. They are typically blends.

Drink time

Relax now

Whiskey snobs may say there’s a “right” way to drink the stuff, but just relax. Point being:

You don’t always need to drink it neat.
Lift the glass to your nose for a smell.

Vanilla, caramel, and toffee are the classic "whiskey flavors," and are a byproduct of the aging process in wooden casks.
Floral and citrus flavors are becoming more and more common in whiskeys, especially blends.
Maple flavors are common in many American whiskeys, particularly in Tennessee Whiskey like Jack Daniels. Smokiness is common in Scotch whiskey, particularly from the region of Islay.

Just try taste and enjoy it!

Tips

  • “Some people say an 8-9 year old bourbon is the sweet spot”. Don’t just go with the oldest thing you can find to look cool, even with Scotch. Age is just a number.
  • Ice is typically made from tap water, meaning it’s full of chlorine. As the ice melts it will water down your drink, well past the point of simply adding some water.
  • The Scots have rule of five «S»:
    Sight, Smell, Swish, Swallow, Splash
  • Whisky is not the same as Whiskey
There is some debate about whether or not Scottish distilleries are the only ones who can call (spell) their whisky, whisky. But the general consensus is this:
    Whisky: Scottish only
    Whiskey: Everyone else
  • Whiskey means "water of life"
In Gaelic, whiskey translates to uisce beatha or "water of life."
The "e" in whiskey comes from fuisce, which comes from uisce beatha. When the Irish monks spread whiskey around Europe, no one could pronounce uisce beatha, so they called it fuisce.
"Uisce" actually sounds more like "Whiskey.
  • Liquid gold
The export of whisky generates a healthy £125 a second for the Scottish government. Just under 38 bottles of whisky being exported from Scotland every second. Laid end-to-end, the 99 million cases of Scotch exported each year would run the distance between Edinburgh and New York – six times.
  • Three’s the magic number
Scotch whisky can only be called Scotch whisky when it has been left for a minimum of three years to age in casks, in Scotland. Some casks hold whisky for considerably more time than this though.
  • The art of blending
Blended whisky came about at a time when single malt whisky was considerably younger and more harsh than it is today. Blends consist of anywhere from 15 to 50 individual whiskies, testament to the blender’s art.

And don't drink and drive friends!
