Superfoods are packed with nutrients that your body needs to nourish bones, muscles, major organs, the immune system and even your hair and nails.

The term superfood, incorporates a broad variety of nutrient dense foods. Often these foods contain rare nutrients that are beneficial to the body. Many superfoods are sourced from places far away & they have been used by different cultures from China to Mongolia to Amazonia. Over the years superfoods have survived the test of time.

The strength, contributions & impact these cultures have had on mankind can be attributed to the superfoods they ate daily.

Tonic superfoods have searched far and wide to bring you the best of these nutrient dense foods in an easily consumable form and will continue to do so.

By eating superfoods you are fuelling your body with proteins, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, enzymes, coenzymes, good fats and oils, essential amino acids, glyconutrients, polysaccharides and essential fatty acids.

Just eating healthy these days isn’t enough. Many healthy fruits and vegetables are grown in soils that are deficient in nutrients. Superfoods contain many of these missing nutrients & will help to restore the balance in a modern life.

The health benefits from superfoods are endless; they can help you with weight loss, muscle gain, detoxing and help you increase your energy. Consuming superfoods also has a therapeutic & tonifying effect on the body systems; often displaying anti inflammatory & purifying properties.

By incorporating superfoods into your daily diet you will be able to increase endurance, speed and strength, train harder, focus longer, alleviate stress and feel great! Superfoods are guaranteed to help you rebalance and revitalize your body whilst improving your overall health.

Superfoods provide you with a sustained level of energy and nutrition that support the body’s metabolism and energy release systems. Furthermore the mineral rich content of superfoods nourish the adrenals and prevent exhaustion while avoiding unnecessary sugar crashes and muscle damage, giving you the energy to get through any day!

One of the biggest mistake people make, when trying to lose or maintain weight, is consuming fat-free foods that are high in sugars but are un-sustaining and leave you hungry quickly after. Maintaining a healthy body weight requires exercise and ‘clean’ unprocessed foods, rich in mineral and nutritional content. Superfoods redress the lost mineral supply in the body because of their abundance of essential mineral, protein and essential fat levels. Once brought into balance, the body responds by sloughing off stored weight and eliminating toxins through better functioning body systems that are not stagnant and under stress.

Amino acids are the building blocks of protein, making protein and its bioavailability incredibly important for increasing lean muscle mass. Rather than supplementing your diet with toxin laden, processed proteins, Superfoods offer a supply of easily digested, accessible proteins. These proteins are supported by other minerals and essential fatty acids that assist in their synthesis and immediate use by the body. Strong, lean, flexible muscle also increases joint health and assists in preventing the onset of muscle degenerate disease.

Great post on the super-foods. It is very informative, I will be eating more of them.

I love super foods. Is it true the darker colors like blue and purple are better for you? or are they just high in antioxidants? I like blueberries and mangosteen.

Great article! I could add that superfoods are something that containts a high nutritional value in very small quantities. For instance, only 1 gram of the algae AFA will provide about 80% of all the nutrients a person needs for one day. Besides the algae AFA, other types of algae like Spirulinaa can also be added to the list. I will also mention colostrum, honey and wild berries as other examples.
