Homemade Tomato Sauce.

Take advantage of the fact that the price of tomatoes has dropped a bit, to make a rich homemade tomato sauce for pasta, this preparation is so practical that it serves for pizza, stews, etc. With few ingredients, it is easy and fast, you can prepare it in quantity, to bottle and store in the fridge.


Ingredients:

  • 6 ripe tomatoes
  • 1 red paprika
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • Salt to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1/2 cube
  • 1/2 onion
  • A pinch of cumin.
  • Oregano (to taste).
  • Oil.

Preparation:

① Wash the 6 tomatoes, make a cross cut at one end. Boil in water for about 8 to 10 minutes (see how the skin begins to give way), after time, drain and then proceed to remove the skin to the tomato

② Chop the onion, paprika and crush the garlic, to prepare the sauce. Heat the oil, first the garlic, then the onion and finally the paprika, until the onion is transparent. (Reserve).

③ Blend the tomatoes and strain to remove the seeds. Again liquefy the tomatoes but add the sofrito and the rest of the ingredients, that is, the pinch of cumin, 1/2 cubit, the teaspoon of sugar and oregano to taste. Bring to a flame for a few minutes. Stir and rectify the flavors and salt.


④ After the minutes, the delicious Homemade Tomato Sauce, made with few ingredients, is ready. With this recipe I revealed a secret as it is the sofrito that gives a spectacular flavor to the sauce.
