Sinfully Good Biscuits
From Sigilmancy, My Roommate and Master of Recipes;
This is my grandmother's recipe. What's listed is exactly how she makes hers. I tried to experiment with substitutions but found that sticking to hers works best if you're not vegan and need to use substitutes for the milk, cheese and butter.
I really love these. They're easy to make, tasty, and go very well with all kinds of dishes from pasta to chicken.
You'll Need
- 1 1/4 cups pancake mix
- 2/3 cups milk
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon parsley
Make & Bake Directions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Mix the pancake mix, milk, cheese and garlic powder together until it creates a thick, sticky dough.
- Grease your baking pan and make 4 relatively even sized biscuits out of the dough.
- Bake for 10 minutes, and while they are baking prep your topping.
To Prepare Topping;
- Melt the butter in the microwave
- Add in 1 teaspoon of each garlic and parsley
- When the biscuits are done immediately either use a brush or a spoon to get the topping over them and let is soak in for a moment.
Eat and enjoy!
My Review
These biscuits are versatile, easy and fast to make, and delicious. I love it when my roommate makes them since they go so well with any sort of meat we have on hand be it beef, chicken or pork. They pull apart amazingly well, store and reheat well, and they just melt in your mouth when you bite into them fresh. They're soft without loosing their shape or drooping, and likely good to pair up with soups or stews as well. They're also cheap to make en masse if you're on a budget or baking for more than a family.
If you choose to give these a try I'd love to know how your results turned out and what you think of them! Thanks a ton for stopping by!
FAQ
- Any kind of pancake mix works, Bisquick is just what we had. If people like to make their own from scratch that's fine too.
- Any kind of milk, butter or cheese works, even vegan subs, but for best results the cheese should be yellow like cheddar.
- Garlic salt can be used over garlic powder, but beware too much salt in the recipe.
- Salted vs unsalted butter is basically just for people watching their salt/sodium intake
- They don't get brown, but if you like them crispier an extra 5 minutes does the trick
