We have been watching the Great Brittan Baking show and when I saw someone bake Spanakopita it took me back to 1985 living in Canada with a greek landlord. She served us a taste of the dish and I fell in love with Spanakopita at that time. There is a companion masterclass show that gives instruction and it gave me enough ambition to try. I thought it was good. This is how it turned out.
I was thinking I could get a reaction like this from Paul.
Ans something like this from Mary.
I think Angela our landlord would be proud too.
This doesn’t look like a traditional Greek one though :-)
I hope at least it tastes like it (there should not be any sesame on)
The ones I have seen were all in 9 x1 3 pan but I followed the recipe and it called for sesame seeds It really did not add much to the flavor but it looked nicer with it. In all Flavor was fantastic, we served it up with a lemon chicken. Too much lemon in the meal.
