Does a beer make any difference when doing a beer can chicken?
I say it doesn't... but watch the video and hear what my buddies/judges have to say.
3 Chickens, 3 Cans: 1 x Beer, 1 x Water and 1 Empty... all taste the same!
Thanks to BeerBird for hooking us up with their awesome BeerBird Grids and to Groenkloof Butchery for the chickens!

I thought as much. Thanks for this extensive test, better to just drink the beer.
I just conducted my own test. I can confirm that beer tastes better if you don't shove it up a chicken first too. You're welcome.
Hahaha... I'll drink to that!
Most definitely... it's never a good idea to waste beer like that :-)
Hey hey! Well I have to say the times we made beer chicken, the meat was so tender and juicy it was realy nice. I love to drink beer aswell. Love you video thanks for sharing!
Oh yes, it will most definitely turn out tender and juicy... but it's the method of braaing it that does the trick, not the beer... An empty can will achieve exactly the same results.
Every time I do a whole chicken, I do it this way... I just use an empty can when I do.
