Nah, I left it out. I'm degasing three times a day today as I wouldn't like the bottles to go pop :) I also got myself a plastic container and keep the bottles in it to contain eruptions if any happen. The thing is very active and gradually getting less and less sweet (I'm degasing and testing). I used plastic bottles from juice as they appear to be good size, but the juice was still so there is some risk involved with them. I simply didn't want to get glass bottles or to buy normal sodas just to have the bottles. They have been doing well so far.

I am also wondering how alcoholic the final result is. Wouldn't like to serve alcohol to kids, but I don't have a meter for that.
