Yey! Quality time indeed. He craved for "Ginataang Sitaw at Kalabasa" kaya naman iyon ang niluto naming dalawa for dinner.
We had a great time together. Magkasama kaming nag-grocery, naghanda ng ingredients, nagluto ng ulam, at higit sa lahat ay sabay kaming naghapunan.
To be honest, cooking is not my hobby. I even don't know how to cook "lutong bahay" dishes. Nasanay akong magluto ng mga instant food like noodles, pancit canton, processed food, etc. But being with my partner in the same roof, I need to learn how to cook and must be willing to do it to make the most out of it!
Booyah! Finally we got the chance to cook Ginataang Sitaw at Kalaba for the first time! Itadakimasu~ 🍽
How to Cook Ginataang Sitaw at Kalabasa:
Ingredients:
• 2 tbsp cooking oil
• 4 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 pc small onion, minced
• 1 pc thumb-sized ginger, sliced
• 1 cup water
• 2 cups cubed kalabasa
• 2 cups 2 1/2-inch pieces sitaw
• 1/2 cup coconut cream or Knorr Gata
• salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- Sauté garlic, onion, ginger, finger chili in oil until light golden brown.
- Pour water, add kalabasa, then simmer while covered for 10 minutes. Add sitaw, then simmer for another 2 minutes.
- Pour coconut cream. Bring them to a simmer. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Wait for 2 minutes, and pooof! Ready to serve.
There's a first time for everything. This might not be the first time I cook a food to eat, but I am happy to share my experiences in cooking certain food for the first time.
